This blessing is for the genuine Christian today, since by virtue of the Mashiach’s love for us we are adopted into the commonwealth of Israel and made partakers of the covenants of promise (Eph. 2:12). We are no longer strangers (gerim) and aliens (necharim) of the Israel of God, but co-heirs and members of the household of God (Eph. 2:19). |
Blessed art Thou, LORD our God, Master of the universe, who gave the heart understanding to distinguish between the day and the night. Blessed art Thou, LORD our God, Master of the universe, Who made me an Israelite. |
